we have never done a project like this before where the artists choose all the remixers themselves. but for the crazy italoboyz album >bla bla bla< we found ourselves not really knowing what to do. so instead of forcing our own ideas for remixers we went back to the source and let the artists run wild on the a&r. marco and fede commissioned all the remixers themselves. the producers they chose are a very diverse bunch and the vinyl 12inch takes a sampling of the best material from two very big underground names. on the a-side das kraus duo turn it a super jackin yet also very haunting rendition of >oh mio dio.< it sounds like pitched up chicago house meets demon days. on the b-side old school master dandy jack turns in one of the oddest records ever on mothership with some unusual sound design, voices and semi-dischordant note runs. super weird for the super weird! whatever you think of this odd lot no one can deny these remixes definitely carry the indistinguishable mark of that ever so quirky duo, the italoboyz

we are happy to present our first japanese artist on quintessentials, ryo murakami. ryo is no stranger to the scene, as he already released a bunch of records on respected labels like dessous, pokerflat or soon on mule musique. the main track >lunch of god< is a deep, raw and reduced house track with a strong us flavour and was already featured in jus eds underground quality radio show. ryo takes it even further with reducing - the result is >depths, a basic kickin techno track. the flipside offers the more than 11 minutes long >lunch of god< remix by house master scott ferguson. the ferris park maestro keeps things close to the original but adds more club feel plus a superb lil bonus track of his own. check it out!

simone tavazzi is doing great releases lately on a bunch of famous italien labels like analytic trail, agile, loose, perc trax and renovatio. again he shows he is a musical mastermind and comes with his answer on todays dancemusic. perfect blend for those late hours at the clubs.

these hand-picked tracks are now available on a dj-friendly 2-sided-4-tracks-vinyl-ep and let me tell you, they are well worth the extra investment. the first of the bunch starts off with big man lexys fancy girl, an ever-growing minimal techy peak-time-pusher with a hushed vocal-sample, some anaologue signal sounds and a futuristic and pumping beat. add a great distorted melody to this on the breakdown and the dancefloor will thank you for putting this on: they will go mental! after this introduction, its the newcomers mickey monzza & joseph discos turn with their equally stimulating track lonely. this is a great modern piece of pumping dub techno with a straight-forward attitude. the hi-hats on this tune are mesmerezing, the clappy snares and sirens perfectly placed and the subtle dubby and groovy melody an ideal antithesis to this hectically moving tune. simply nice! but hold on, there is more to come. on the flip there is hamburgs house impressario h.o.s.h. with his track ben johnson and whether this title is a reference to the legendary sportsman or not, its a pretty record-worthy track: wonderful little stabs and vocal sounds and a bassline so warm and groovy it makes your heart melt. then when the breakdown hits you with its long and winding signal sound, the dancefloor will already be bathing in a floor filled with sweet happiness. this is truely delicious! the two newcomers and residents at hive club in zurich animaltrainer have the honour to finish off this ep with their oily tech-house-anthem talkshow, a superb main-floor-peak-time-melody-affair.

we are pleased as punch to have this one on dissident. as you no doubt know one half of naum gabo is mr jonnie wilkes aka one half of optimo and unless i got totally the wrong end of the stick when i spoke to jonnie this is the first actual naum gabo release after a bunch of excellent remixes. its a low slung groove for all proper dancefloors with a rubbery bassline, an uber-classic arpeggio, a super-cool synth line and all manner of dubby spacey trippy business going on. i guess this one will fly out even quicker than usual so get them skates on people

the kazey & bulldog picture disc is followed by the first d2s release from our hero rod lee - a baltimore legend in his own right and in our eyes the no. 1 club producer, bar none. this super aggro dude has serious issues. he just needs to open his mouth and kids cry flames. for his first d2s release, rod commits re-mastered versions of two of our favourite cuts produced by the man. we first heard >understand< when we scored a bunch of scottie bs ebay auctions, and to this day its one of the best baltimore tracks ive ever heard. you can play this sh*t anywhere and the crowd just freaks out. hip hop heads love it, techno heads love it, even your girlfriend loves it. we coupled it with rods simple but ultra effective remix of the eurythmics classic, >sweet dreams<. when the catch an attitude tour dropped in on our club in glasgow, a-trak dropped this beast for all of 30 seconds and people went nuts. bannanas even. you could argue that the eurythmics remix thing is overdone and outdated, but if you did so, wed know for sure you hadnt heard rods version. anyway... we tracked it down and got it on the flip, so really this is more like a double a. both cuts are re-mastered (but still raw like the day they were made) and cut loud on heavy 12inch vinyl

all tracks on arti farti have been tested out the last 6 months by our local heroes, and have been proven to work in many a club:-) a: yesteryear: this one is rough. combining modern tech house with some old school >funky< rythms, and catchy keyboard riff, this one has blown up floors for me for a long time. its full of details, and has that eiry >ive heard this track before< feel to it. a massive hit in copenhagen allready, i hope itl be one for you too. full support from a bunch of big djs b: out run in: as the title suggests, this is yet another return to the olden days. i love records like computer madness, but they absolutely sound like crap next too newer releases. this is my tribute to the days where a 808 and a 101 were enough to creat magic hope you like the stuff, and remember. stay on the scene, like a fax machine!!

mos ferrys sublabel fenou returns after a one year break with a new limited 10 vinyl edition. the first releases realize collectors price and show a path to a universe of experimental, minimal pop. dapayks >dehalledretro< is probably known as part of his liveset. the calm and reduced, but groovy track emerged from a bunch of loops hes playing with during his performances. its a proof that shows, minimal is not always made of clean, sterile sounds and dry wood-like tones. dredl kiboshs flipside >i found you< is spinning around broken beats and intelligent grooves, beyond the klikkaklakka standards. its a link between four-to-the-floor and downtempo-breakbeat, very soulful

cynic returns with a great 12inch of disco tastic madness. the grooves are loose, the riffs low slung and the beats punchy. just the kind of stuff we re used to hear from the cynic stable. proper bomb. this e.p features three hot tracks in a tribute to the sundance kid, the a side the sundance kid, comes complete with galloping horses, rattlesnakes and gunshots this track is the wild west meets the mirror ball. the first track on the b side westbound 23, is named after the first train robbery that the sundance kid committed in his early years before he joined the wild bunch, the blaze of glory that finishes the e.p. is a reference to the well documented last stand, where butch cassidy and the sundance kid were surrounded by the bolivian army
